m the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, held a meeting on Tuesday. During the meeting held at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar, PM Oli thanked the UAE government for its immediate support after the April 25 devastating earthquake in Nepal. On the occasion, he said that the country has now entered the stage of development with the promulgation of the new constitution.Furthermore, since the discussion on protecting and promoting investment of both countries and ending dual tax system were in last phase, PM Oli commented that these two agreements were positive. During the meeting, PM Oli also requested the UAE government to grant general amnesty to a Nepali national Amar Bahadur Bam who has been in Dubai’s central jail since 2003. Bam, who used to work as a driver in UAE, is serving jail term on the charge of murdering an Indian national. UAE Minister for Foreign Affairs Nahyan, in response, gave PM Oli a word that he will look into the matter.
