The Cody Legion baseball team had 21 hits through two games on Sunday, earning a split with the Billings Halos.
A five-run fifth inning powered Cody to an 11-3 win in Game 1.
The Cubs led 5-3 going into the fifth and added a run in the sixthCody finished with 11 hits. Keegan Brown went 2-for-4, Jared Grenz 2-4 with a double and Connor McLeod 2-3.
Cam Wright earned the win, giving up three runs on six hits through five innings. Cooper Brown closed out the game, allowing just two hits.
In Game 2, the Halos scored two runs right away and led 4-1 after three. Cody made it 4-3 in the fourth but then Billings started to pull away winning 8-4.
The Cubs had 10 hits. Cooper Brown went 2-4 with a triple, while Keegan Brown and Cam Wright also went 2-4.
Cody sent five pitchers to the mound. Starter Chantz Price went three innings and took the loss, giving up four runs on seven hits. Trent Bronnenberg then pitched three innings and allowed three runs on two hits. Tanner Quick gave up one run on one hit in the seventh and McLeod came in to face the final batterKeegan Brown
