Police have arrested six drug smugglers along with heroin from Pindeshwor chowk of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City in Sunsari district on Friday evening. Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Area Police Office, Dharan, Dhakendra Khatiwada said that police seized nine grams and 280 milligrams of heroin from them. A spectacular fire broke out in the middle of the night in a sprawling tire dump in Spain, about 35 kilometres south of Madrid. An emergency has been declared in Castilla La Mancha region as firemen struggle to contain the blaze. About five million tires are piled on the site in Seseña, reportedly more than anywhere else in Europe. The flames devouring them are coughing up black toxic smoke, and residents and drivers have been told to keep their windows closed.Around 9,000 residents near to a so-called ‘tire graveyard’ in the Spanish town of Sesena, near Madrid, have been ordered to evacuate after a million tires were set ablaze sending a thick, black cloud of toxic fumes overhead.

The report by the Nepal government on official development assistance (ODA) shows that in fiscal 2014-2015, India’s ODA disbursement to Nepal plummeted by over 50% in the first year of the NDA government, allowing Beijing to overtake India in the list of top assistance providers. While China’s disbursement of ODA stood at $37.95 million, India accounted for a little over $22 million. This is the first time in the past five years that India is not in the list of top five ODA providers (in terms of disbursement) among Nepal’s bilateral development partners. China is now in fourth position, after the UK, the US and Japan, and followed by Switzerland.
