MUMBAI INDIANS VS KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS READ MORE NEWS

It appears Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders expected dew to arrive at Wankhede stadium as the evening progressed. The hosts opted to chase and the visitors dropped a spinner, Piyush Chawla, for a seamer Jaydev Unadkat.

Knight Riders have also brought in Chris Lynn, the top-scorer in the Big Bash League 2015-16. Lynn made 378 runs at an average of 54 with a century, three fifties and a strike-rate of 173.39. The only player – under condition of making at least 60 runs – to best Lynn’s strike-rate is also with Knight Riders – Andre Russell. Morne Morkel has been benched to accommodate the extra batting muscle.

Gautam Gambhir still has enough bowlers though. With the addition of Unadkat, who played only one match last season for Delhi Daredevils, Knight Riders have six frontline options, all of whom have played international cricket.

Mumbai were unchanged.

Kolkata Knight Riders: 1 Gautam Gambhir (capt), 2 Robin Uthappa (wk), 3 Suryakumar Yadav, 4 Shakib Al Hasan, 5 Yusuf Pathan, 6 Chris Lynn, 7 Andre Russell, 8 R Sathish, 9 Jaydev Unadkat, 10 Umesh Yadav, 11 Sunil Narine
